Test Shot No. 1

In the spirit of this exhibit, this picture probably qualifies as my first Favorite Image. Taken casually while playing with some film and lens combinations, the result is an advertisement for the sharpness and clarity of Zeiss photographic glass. I have used this image as my primary calibration shot for testing the setup of my digital darkroom – scanner, computer, monitor, printer. Like the kid practicing free throws in his driveway pretending that it is the final shot of a Championship Game, I have always imagined this image in an exhibit of My Work. And now it is.
