Ferrari Red again, on a classic piece of highly exotic racing machinery – a 1970 512M. This image is all about capturing a very dynamic mix of contrasting forces right at the point of Perfect Balance. First, the pilot has a touch of counter-steer dialed in to offset the tendency of the rear tires to swap places with the front tires. The inside front tire lifts in response. Second, the tire sidewalls are stretched to the max as the wheels and lateral G forces do battle with the limits of adhesion. Third, this has been going on through the complete turn, as the line of rubber extending rearward from the right rear tire attests. Amazing Performance.
